8 Top Nail Polishes of 2014 ...

Cassandra

Now that we are inching closer to the end of the year, I can't help thinking about all of the fabulous colors that made a splash on the runway and the streets; even though the top nail polishes for popular brands pretty much followed the same patterns, they were all still unique in their own way. That's actually one of the many aspects that I love about fashion: Having the ability to stay on top of everything that is a la mode and still being able to add your own twist to your look. From turquoise to burgundy, there are so many nail polish brands that nailed it when it came to giving their products personality. Out of all of the top nail polishes to break out onto the fashion scene, these eight were truly in a league of their own.

RgB Cosmetics - Scarlet I have to say that out of all of the top nail polishes of 2014, RGB's scarlet has to be one of my favorites. Not only does this brand stay away from harmful chemicals such as formaldehyde, toluene, and DBP, it is also cruelty free. This nail polish is available at rgbcosmetics.com.

2. RgB Cosmetics - Blush

Frequently asked questions

3. OPI - "Polka.com"

OPI - "Polka.com" Next, OPI is known for their nail polish lacquers that are really long lasting and chip resistant. Available at opi.com (or your local drugstore), one of their go-to polishes is "polka.com." This blend of blue and red rhinestones is perfect for those days when you're feeling a little festive.

4. Sally Hansen - Barracuda

Sally Hansen - Barracuda This striking yet pale shade of blue will turn heads on any occasion. The coolest part about it is that it goes well with a variety of colors and works for any season.

5. Sinful Colors - Boom Boom

Sinful Colors - Boom Boom For sale at sinfulcolors.com (and your local nail salon), Sinful Colors' Boom Boom certainly does not disappoint. The site actually has a pretty cool feature that lets you adjust the skin tone of a virtual hand so you can get a hint of what it will look like.

6. Sally Hansen - Carnivale

Sally Hansen - Carnivale With such a fun name, it's no surprise that Sally Hansen's Carnivale is so well loved. This lacquer works as both a top coat and base coat, acts as a strengthener, helps your nails grow and is chip-resistant. It doesn't get better than that!

7. Essie - Too Taboo

Essie - Too Taboo I don't think I'll ever get over how rich this polish from Essie is. What makes Essie's hot fuchsia creme polish even better is the fact that its dark pink tones (that are practically raspberry in color) complement almost every skin tone. You'll be happy to know that it is also DBP, toluene and formaldehyde free.

8. Essie - Vices Versa

Essie - Vices Versa Just because it's not summer anymore doesn't mean you can't rock the neon look! Although you may need to add a few coats to really emphasize the bright color, Essie's done a fantastic job at bringing neon green to the forefront of the (fashion) conversation.

Don't be afraid to mix and match colors for a look that is truly all you! Are there any other nail polish lacquers that you've wanted to get your hands on?
