With nail art finding its rightful place in the fast growing fashion market, nail design trends 2013 will see an increased popularity boost. If you're a nail fiend like I am, it is imperative that you stay up to date with these hot trends! Lucky for you, I have them right here! The market is bursting with new nail colors and nail art appliqués; it may get a little overwhelming! But don't worry, ladies, I've got the best of the best: the top 10 nail design trends 2013 edition!
I've seen so many different types of designs in this category, from hearts, to squares and triangles! The trick to this trend is tape! Use tape to create a nice crisp edge when creating the shape you want.
Nails featuring these elements are usually on the tips of the nails or the very bottom, near your cuticle. It adds a little bit of sparkle to your outfit. I have also fallen in love with using these elements only on one nail. This way, you don't have to worry about making sure that all of your nails look uniform. (I'm terrible at using my left hand, so trying to make my nails look exactly the same on both hands is such a struggle!)
I haven't tried this trend, but it seems to be incredibly popular. This design looks like tiny, little sparkly beads. They come in multiple colors and shimmers, so this look is perfect for when you are going to the club or a formal event where you need to be more dressed up.
Similar to number 6 on my nail trend list, decorating your nails with delicious desserts requires talent and a steady hand. I would never attempt this freehand, but if I come across cupcake nail appliqués, I'm purchasing them, no questions asked!
Even though I prefer a regular french manicure, this technique has really caught on. You are no longer painting the tips of your nails; instead you are using that different color on the bottom of your nails, near your cuticle. Sounds a bit strange, right?
These trends are fairly new. Both of them give off a tie dye look. Dip dye is similar to ombré, whereas marble nails give off a swirl-like effect. Both are easy looks to achieve but do take some time.
In my opinion, nail art is the perfect way to showcase your personality. Do you have a signature nail style? Did your favorite trend make the list? What trend(s) do you love the most? Do share! I'd love to hear from you!
